Missing person found exhausted after battling through 'serious snow drifts'

Police Scotland requested the assistance of the mountain rescue team to help trace a farm worker who had gone missing near Selkirk this evening, Thursday, February, 4.

14 team members were travelling to the RV when the missing person was located safe and well, just as the first team members were arriving at the scene.

The individual wasn’t hurt but was exhausted after walking through some “serious snow drifts.”

The Met Office has issued various weather warnings across Scotland and the rest of the UK, with an amber warning of heavy snowfalls coming into effect from midnight tonight across much of the Highlands.

Transport Scotland is urging people to remember to travel only when their journey is ‘absolutely necessary’ particularly if they are in an amber warning affected area.
