Man charged over alleged Scottish graveyard theft

A man has been arrested and charged over an apparent theft of items from a Scottish graveyard.

Police were alerted to an alleged incident in Cardonald Cemetery, Glasgow at around 8.30pm on Friday.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 8.30pm on Friday, July 23, 2021, police were called in relation to an alleged theft of items from a graveyard in Cardonald, Glasgow.

“A 52-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and is the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal.”
