Man arrested after committing theft on a bus and then staying on board

Police were called at around 10am on Monday, February, 8 in relation to a theft committed on a Stagecoach bus.

The report stated that the person involved was still on board after the incident occurred.

Police located the bus and stopped it just south of the Dornoch roundabout, near Tain.

Subsequently a 39-year-old man was arrested and charged in relation to his threatening behaviour and theft.

It is understood that the man was due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Tuesday, February, 9.

Police have thanked the people on board the bus, and the bus driver, for their assistance.
