TRNSMT named Britain's best new festival

Glasgow Green's new live music extravaganza has been name one of Britain’s leading festivals.

TRNSMT was honoured as best new event at the UK Festival Awards in London.

However the event, staged over three days at Glasgow Green in July, lost out to Latitude, in Suffolk, for the coveted title of Britain’s best major festival.

Organisers DF Concerts have already announced the return of TRNSMT - which was held on T in the Park’s traditional dates in the calendar - next summer.

Radiohead, Kasabian, Biffy Clyro, The 1975, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Stormzy were among the acts to perform at the first TRNSMT.

The will be staged across five days over two weekends in 2018 with Liam Gallagher and Stereophonics already confirmed as headliners. The Script, James Bay, Jessie J, Courteeners, Wolf Alice and J Hus are also in next year’s line-up.
