Wining and dining

Due to coronavirus restrictions, The Balmoral’s Michelin-starred Number One restaurant remains closed, but don’t let that deter you, as the sumptuous Brasserie Prince makes for a suitably rewarding substitute. A delightful blend of French and Scottish cuisine, the relaxed restaurant, which is also surprisingly affordable, is as perfect a place as any to enjoy a first class meal.

The serving of alcohol, for the time being, is also off the menu, however, the hotel's talented mixologists are on hand to create a mocktail to remember.

Worth getting out of bed for

If you’ve a south-facing room, it’s well worth getting up extra early to witness the first rays of sunlight splash over the crow-stepped roof lines and Scots Baronial turrets of Edinburgh’s Old Town. The early part of the day also presents an excellent opportunity to explore the heart of the city while it remains quiet, with The Balmoral being ideally placed.

Little extras

It's often the smallest of details that make for the most long-lasting impressions and it’s in this regard that The Balmoral excels. From the delicious truffles waiting for you on arrival to the complimentary Balmoral-embossed box of luxury tea ready for you to pack into your suitcase, the little extras on offer here mean you won’t be forgetting your stay any time soon.

Guestbook comments

An unparalleled palatial treat in the heart of Scotland’s capital city, The Balmoral is every bit as refined inside as its iconic exterior suggests.
