I have been looking for a desk that I can tuck into an alcove in the dining room. I don’t want something that will take up too much room, but I need to be able to sit a computer on it. Any suggestions?

A Harkness

A: The Wimbledon space-saving desk is compact with a pull-out keyboard trolley that has a drawer in the front. It has four filing compartments suitable for CDs, as well as two drawers and two further filing slots suitable for paperwork. Made from solid rubberwood and poplar veneers, it requires simple self-assembly. It stands 81cm (h) x 86.5cm (w) x 53cm (d) and costs £250.

Q: I would like to find a nature-inspired wallpaper for our light, bright living room. We look directly onto our garden and I would like to reflect that inside too.

J Melrose

A: Wallcovering specialist Sanderson has a lovely contemporary wallpaper called Aspen, which depicts a woodland landscape drawn in the style of a free-flowing sketch. With a light and airy feel, it is available in four colourways. The teal and aqua may be suited to what you are looking for. It costs £46 per roll.
