Your offspring may have the manners of Minnie the Minx or Dennis the Menace, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be ‘down with the kids’.
Now you can dress them in the season’s hottest new trends while celebrating their challenging antics.
Internationally renowned fashion designer Stella McCartney’s new autumn collection for children is inspired by the Beano and Dandy comics.
The new range has everything from babygros to T-shirts, jeans, hoodies and bomber jackets, all emblazoned with characters from the popular Scottish comics.
There are 40 bespoke garments, 30 starring Dandy characters and 10 with Minnie the Minx designs.
Korky the Cat, Cuddles and Dimples and Dinah Mo all feature in the collection.
Both comics have a special place in the designer’s heart since her rock legend father Sir Paul McCartney was honoured with a cameo feature in the Dandy’s last-ever edition in 2012 after saying in 1963 that it was one of his life’s ambitions to appear in it.
In 2017 she launched a selection of adult clothing bearing some of the same characters.
“The Beano was a huge part of my childhood and the rebellious and fun nature celebrated in the comic led the design process of the new collection,” she said.
“Following the success of the Dandy woman’s range last year, we were keen to celebrate the next generation of Beano fans with a sustainable and practical range for kids who still share that Beano spirit of these iconic characters.”
Emma Scott, chief executive at Beano Studios, said: “In this new range Stella brings famous Beano and Dandy heroes to life in a new and dynamic way, which connect with Beano children of today.”
The range includes pieces for girls, boys and babies, with sizes from newborn to 14+ years.
It will be available to purchase from June onwards from Stella McCartney online and at selected stores.
But looking this good does not come cheap.
Prices start at £38 for baby joggers and go up to £155 for a trendy bomber jacket.
