5. Loch an Eilein
A walk around the 5 mile path around Loch an Eilein, near Aviemore, offers the chance to spot red squirrels and other wildlife while enjoying views of the picturesque ruined castle on an island in the middle of the loch.
6. Linlithgow Loch
For families, or those wanting a shorter walk, Linlithgow Loch offers an easy circular route taking in views of Linlithgow Palace.
7. Loch Morlich
Set in the Cairngorms National Park, just east of Aviemore, the circular walk around Loch Morlich is one of Scotland's prettiest, taking around two hours to cover the approximately six miles of path.
8. Loch Lomond
