9. Watch dolphins play in the waves
Playful dolphins are one of the most magical animals to experience in the wild and there are many sport in Scotland where you stand a great chance of seeing them. Perhaps the best is the Chanonry Point area, near Fortrose. Take a boat trip to get up close and personal with the creatures, or pop on your binoculars and try to spot them from the shore. 10. Join Britian's only free-ranging reindeer herd
There's an unusual sight for visitors to catch in the Cairngorm Mountains around Aviemore - around 150 reindeer that make up Britain’s only free-ranging herd of the animals famous for guiding Santa's sleigh.
