Scotland’s Derek Palmer Jnr made an impressive start to his BTCC career last weekend, outstripping expectations for his all-new team.

Driving for Infiniti Support Our Paras Racing, Palmer took the wheel of his Infiniti Q50 only four days after it completed its first test.

Despite the lack of testing, and a rocky free practice, Palmer quickly got to grips with his car and piloted it to 20th place in race 2 and 18th in race 3 at the season opener at Brands Hatch.

The car is prepared by a team of injured former Parachute Regiment soldiers, with all team profits being donated to Support Our Paras, the official Regiment charity.
