Three new showhomes open in Ratho

CALA Homes (East) believes in giving buyers a wide choice at their Craigpark development in Ratho, on the outskirts of Edinburgh. They have launched a show village which will feature three different showhomes available to view, allowing buyers to experience the company’s latest designs first hand and have a choice of layout.

Viewings of the four bedroom Elliot, five bedroom Melville and five bedroom Garvie showhomes are all available now.

The development of 111 homes, when complete, will comprise a variety of spacious four and five bedroom detached houses and four bedroom townhouses.

The first phase has prices starting at £455,000.

The show village properties have been decorated by the interior designer and owner of Luma Interiors, Joanne McDonald who has taken her inspiration from the location. She says: “My designs are put together to reflect the lovely balance between country and city living that these houses have to offer.

“I have created sophisticated interior schemes with modern colour palettes and design led furnishings and touches. There are elements that make one think of lovely woodland walks, a trip on a canal boat, and at the same time perhaps a walk through the West End of Edinburgh stopping at a fashionable café along the way.”

McDonald says: “Each house style is different, each with its own personality which I have designed individually to appeal to the tastes and lifestyle of different home owners.”

Craigpark sits in an elevated position on the edge of a former quarry boasting spectacular views across the Forth Road Bridges and into Fife.

It is surrounded by woodland, but is well situated for both local facilities and all major commuting routes.

It is actually one of the best connected villages in Scotland, sitting on the west edge of Edinburgh just minutes away from the M8, M9 and Forth Road Bridge and just an eight minute drive to Edinburgh Airport.

For leisure it has walkways and cycle paths close by and the Edinburgh International Climbing Centre almost on its doorstep. The village includes an award winning bistro and a brand new marina, ten minutes walk from the development.

Sarah Stanger, Sales and Marketing Director for CALA Homes (East), believes Ratho is fast becoming a rural hotspot and says a trip to the development is well worth it for the view alone. She said: “We are extremely excited to launch our show village to allow those seeking a new home to really get a feel for exactly what they are looking for.”

Each of CALA’s Craigpark properties have been designed with flexible living in mind, and include spacious open plan kitchens with family areas, formal lounges and generously sized bedrooms many with en-suite bathrooms and built in wardrobes.

The build here is well underway, with the first residents set to move in from January 2016. Further releases of homes, including the five bedroom townhouses will be announced later.

Incentives are available including 100 per cent part exchange or a contribution to LBTT, depending on the plot.
