Scottish house prices: how the cost of property has changed where you live

Scotland saw average house prices increase annually by 7.7% to reach £148,783, according to data from the Office for National Statistics.

By comparison, the average UK house price reached £226,756 over the year to November, an increase of 5.2% annually.

The area showing the largest annual growth in Scotland was West Dunbartonshire, where house prices increased by 14.9% to reach an average of £109,293.

The City of Aberdeen saw the least growth north of the border, a -2.2% fall saw average house prices dip to £164,041.

The market in Edinburgh remains strong, with the average price rising 10.0% to £247,842.

Prices in Glasgow also continue to steadily increase, with the average property now costing £128,123, up 9.7% on last year.
