Former police box-turned-cafe for sale in central Edinburgh location

If you've ever dreamed of running a cafe in the capital but didn't think you had the budget, then this former police box is worth a look.

The kiosk, which is located on George Square, is currently being operated as a crepe and coffee vendor.

The location is ideal for such a business thanks to the high footfall - which increases hugely during the Edinburgh Festival - plus the proximity to the University of Edinburgh.

But, if the new owners fancied a change of scene, the box can be moved to another location and the potential uses of the kiosk are huge.

Future businesses within it could include; a compact gin bar, sushi stop or soup station.

The kiosk is currently for sale with a guide price of £30,000 with Auction House Scotland who describe it as an "excellent opportunity to either take over the running of the business as staff are already in place, or run the kiosk on your own."

These former police boxes are unique to the city and their distinctive and compact designed was created by former city architect Ebenezer MacRae between 1931 and 1933.
