They replied to tell us about the good eggs that have adapted to survive and/or supported the community through lockdown, and we added a couple of our own favourites to the mix.
1. 2. Garden Bistro
"The team at The Garden Bistro have gone above and beyond. They have continuously adapted and modified how they operate within ever-changing guidelines and restrictions. Many elderly customers visit daily for a coffee or meal (some by themselves), knowing they'll receive a warm welcome and cheery chat from the team. It's been a welcome addition for family outings and friends getting together in a safe, socially-distanced environment. It's truly amazing they've been able to not just open during the pandemic, but also support the local community".

2. 3. Fox & Co
“Fox & Co have been looking after my family more than usual during the last 10 months. They've diversified and gone from providing my breakfast and lunch to also selling superb pies at amazing value. Similar ones advertised by other favourite restaurants are double the price for half as much”. Donald Harvey

3. 4. Royal Oak
"Lisa Wynne and the team have worked so hard to reopen the pub after the first lockdown and to make sure all their customers would be safe inside. They have organised numerous charity events to raise money and have a lot of older customers. During lockdown they've gone out of their way to make sure they are okay and have what they need . You have all been fantastic", Gregg Cochrane

4. 5. Civerinos
"Civerinos have been fairy godmothers during the pandemic. From offering pizza kits so kids could make their own to distributing gratis pizza to NHS staff and, in conjunction with charity, The Scotch Broth, to furloughed or unemployed hospitality workers", Gaby Soutar
