The distillery unveiled its Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Triple Distilled - Release No.1, following on from its popular Glasgow 1770 Peated expression in 2019, and the distillery’s inaugural launch two years ago of the instant sell-out success, Glasgow 1770 Original.

With a limited number of Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Triple Distilled - Release No.1 bottles available globally, this competition is not to be missed.

To celebrate the launch of the new expression the competition is offering the much sought-after prize of an incredible Glasgow 1770 Signature Rage hamper containing each of the three single malts: Glasgow 1770 Original (2019 Release), Glasgow 1770 Peated (Release No.1), Glasgow 1770 Triple Distilled (Release No.1), alongside branded Glencairn glassware and Fever Tree mixers. As summer beckons this provides the perfect opportunity for the winner to sit back and enjoy a single malt in a sunny garden or in the comfort of their own home.

The distillery, established in Hillington Glasgow in 2012, described its latest product as part of its unwavering mission to bring single malt distilling back to city. Its range of whiskies have been recognised in global competitions, with accolades including Gold Medals at The San Francisco World Spirits Competition, International Spirits Challenge and Scotch Whisky Masters.

It has become part of the fabric of the city and likes to involve local people in all aspects of the production of its range of spirits. For example, its tall and angular 1770 bottle has 'Glasgow' embossed at the foot and is sealed with a unique locally-made copper-topped cork.

Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Triple Distilled - Release No.1 is non-chill filtered and natural in colour with an ABV of 46%. It has harnessed the pure water of Loch Katrine, the distillery’s natural water source, with a third distillation and maturation exclusively in virgin oak casks. This end result is a “smooth single malt whisky with deep complexity, character and warmth”.

Tasting notes say the new product provides aromas of rich sweet butterscotch toffee and dark cherries on the nose, leading to hints of ripe pear and baked vanilla cheesecake on the palate, followed by spicy chocolate. The finish is described as long and clean, with lingering notes of rich honey and vanilla.

With the Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Triple Distilled - Release No.1 completing its Signature range, the distillery will now turn its attention to producing a selection of single cask and limited edition releases.

The Glasgow Distillery has been recognised for its achievements and won the ‘Craft Producers of the Year’ award at the Whisky Magazine Icons of Whisky Awards last year. As well as whisky, the distillery produces a range of other high-quality spirits, including Makar Gin, Banditti Club Spiced Rum, G52 Botanical Vodka.
