A recreation of designer Paul Smith’s first shop has moved to Glasgow as part of an exhibition of his work.

Staged at The Lighthouse, Hello, My Name is Paul Smith is a showcase of his career in fashion.

A model of his first shop in Byard Lane, Nottingham, forms part of the exhibition, along with a recreation of his personal office, and a film called A Day in The Life of a Fashion Show.

Smith said: “I’ve always had an affection for Glasgow based on the city’s strong art heritage and its wonderful link with creativity. Charles
Rennie Mackintosh, the School of Art and just the whole atmosphere of the place is fantastic.”

He sold his first collection in a Paris hotel suite in 1976.
