A 12-YEAR-OLD actor who portrayed a young Paul Ferris in the film The Wee Man has been nominated for a Bafta.
Daniel Kerr, from Glasgow, is one of more than 30 nominees for this year’s Bafta New Talent Awards, which recognise exceptional work across several categories, including acting, writing and animation.
He is up against Sophie Gane for her performance in sci-fi short Aurora and George Wallace for The Happy Lands.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony hosted by broadcaster Muriel Gray in Glasgow’s Oran Mor venue on 21 March.
Alan de Pellette, acting director of Bafta in Scotland, said: “The wealth of emerging talent in Scotland is outstanding. It’s been great to see more entries than ever this year, and I would like to say a massive thanks to all of our jurors and congratulate everyone who has made the shortlist.”
