EIGHT years after the release of the seventh and final book in the Harry Potter series author JK Rowling has penned a new short story revealing more on the history of the wizard’s family.
Published on the relaunched website Pottermore to celebrate the site’s new look, the tale delves into Harry’s family tree, explains more about their seemingly endless fortune and examines the origins of the invisibility cloak the young wizard inherits early on in the series.
The essay - titled The Potter Family - can be read for free on pottermore.com along with other exclusive features and news.
While it’s unlikely that Rowling will commit to another full length Potter novel, it seems the writer is not yet finished with Harry and co.
As well as getting their magic fix by logging on to Pottermore, fans can look forward to the upcoming Warner Bros film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (based on a screenplay by Rowling) as well as a 2016 original play opening in London titled Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
