Aston Martin DB10 causes a stir in Edinburgh

While Daniel Craig and Monica Bellucci were wowing James Bond fans at the Spectre premiere in Mexico earlier this week, the real star of the 
movie was causing a stir in 
Edinburgh.

The Aston Martin DB10 has become an instant hit around the world following its spectacular spin through Rome in the latest Bond installment.

And Edinburgh’s Leven Car Company managed to get its hands on one of only ten in 
existence as part of a nationwide tour to celebrate the sports car manufacturer’s 50-year association with Britain’s favourite secret agent.

Led by Aston Martin chief creative officer, Marek Reichman, the design team worked closely with the film’s director, Sam Mendes, to create the ultimate car for the world’s most famous spy. Taking 2000 man hours each to build, the DB10s were created specifically for Bond producers Eon, but apparently hint at the design direction for Aston, which bodes well for future models.Accompanying the car to Edinburgh was stunt driver Mark Higgins who has been a regular fixture on Bond since Quantum of Solace. Responsible for winding the DB10 through the Italian captial, he revealed that the trickiest part of the shoot was drifting the car through the Vatican at 100mph. Hopefully the Pope was suitably 
impressed.

Of course, you can’t mention Bond and Aston Martin without conjuring up images of the firm’s first dalliance with the superpsy and luckily there was also a stunning DB5 in atendance to remind us where it all 
began.
