Journalist drops hint over Celtic signing flop as summer move 'on the cards'

Vasilis Barkas could be on his way out of Celtic this summer as the reigning Scottish Premiership chances are said to be considering loaning out the Greek goalkeeper.

According to journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos, who first broke the news of Barkas’ move to Glasgow last summer, a loan move when the window re-opens is “possible” though it won’t be back to Barkas’ homeland.

He tweeted: “Barkas was not in Celtic squad v Ross County. Seems, he's running out of time in Celtic Park. On loan in summer transfer window is possible. Greece is NOT an option at the moment #Celtic #CelticFC #Barkas”

This came a day after Chorianopoulos tweeted that Celtic are looking to sign another goalkeeper this summer as they already look set to move on from the ex-AEK Athens star.

Barkas has failed to live up to his reported £5 million transfer fee and twice found himself dropped from the starting XI for extended periods.
