While they can still be found in the Capital, the early 2000s witnessed a surge in the number of internet cafes in the city with the number of people reliant on them at its peak.
From Scotland’s first, Hanover Street’s Cyberia, to the gigantic Easy Everything on Rose Street, we take a look at 8 of Edinburgh’s most fondly-recalled cyber cafes.
1. Cyberia

4. Easy Everything
The daddy of all the internet cafes was undoubtedly Stelios Haji-Ioannou's Easy Everything cafe on Rose Street, which opened in 2000 and had more than 400 seats. Photo: Neil Hanna
