Paisley hospital apologises after '˜dead body' spotted in window

The move came after a passer-by reported seeing a pair of feet protruding from under a blanket in a window of the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.
The lifeless ‘body’ turned out to be a plastic dummy used for surgical training.

Hide AdThe visitor to the unit was left reeling after the sighting, saying the dummy looked very convincing.
The father-to-be, who was visiting his wife on Sunday evening, said the corpse appeared to be lying in an office with filing cabinets.
He told the Daily Record: “It made me feel quite sick. The feet looked discoloured, blueish, and there was no movement.
“It would have been a strange way for anyone to sleep, at a window in a public place without moving, with your feet poking out the bottom of the covers.”
He added: “The body was so close to the window you couldn’t miss it.”
An NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde spokeswoman said: “We would like to apologise to the man for any confusion or distress caused and reassure him that what he saw was a dummy which is used for surgical training.”
