Now it's 'Don't eat and drive'

MANY motorists munch their way through almost 4,000 calories of food and drink a week at the wheel, a new survey shows.

As many as 56 per cent of drivers tuck in while motoring, with chocolate and fizzy drinks the favourite fare, according to the poll by Kia Motors.

The company's UK communications director, Steve Kitson, said: "While consuming food and drink at the wheel is not currently illegal, the law takes a dim view of any activity that com-promises a driver's focus. It is much safer either to build in time before leaving home or take a break during your journey."
