Help mentally ill in to work

A SERVICE has been launched to help people with mental health issues across the Lothians to get back into work.

The organisation Remploy will carry out the scheme on behalf of the government, and wants to target hundreds of people across the area.

It is hoped it will help those who are off long-term sick with psychological difficulties, which would in turn assist companies in reducing absences.

Beth Carruthers, Remploy’s director of employment services, said: “We are experts in this field and have been delivering a similar support package for more than four years.”
