Dutch find new gene linked to deafness

SCIENTISTS have discovered a new gene linked to hereditary deafness.

Around half of deafness is thought to be inherited. So far, about one third of 60 genes involved have been identified, and yesterday experts in the Netherlands announced they had found another one.
