Damning report on Wishaw hospital
INSPECTORS have criticised the care given to the elderly at a Scottish hospital, where patients had to wait so long for meals that staff encouraged visitors to bring in food and snacks for them.
Nursing staff at Wishaw General Hospital were also rapped for failing to help patients who needed assistance to eat their food, using inappropriate language in front of patients and moving dementia patients for no reason.

Inspectors issued the hospital with 15 areas of improvement following their visit last month. This included making more food available to patients.
