Group Commander David Murdoch from Scottish Fire and Rescue Service joined other fellow pipers across the country in thanking staff working hard to fight the coronavirus.

Footage shows him belting out Scotland the Brave on his pipes at 8pm.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman posted the video of his fellow firefighter on twitter saying: “A huge thank you to all of our carers, colleagues and key workers across the United Kingdom working during this difficult time

“Here is Group Commander David Murdoch playing Scotland the Brave and this one is for all of you #ClapForCarers #ClapForKeyWorkers.”

The nation rose together this evening as part of the Clap for Carers movement, a campaign started during the coronavirus pandemic to show how grateful the country is to NHS frontline workers.

Organisers said: “During these unprecedented times they need to know we are grateful.”
