A female mallard has been spotted waddling with her eleven ducklings down a city centre street.
The birds were seen in George Street which is normally a bustling area of Edinburgh when the country isn’t in lockdown.
The video, filmed by Susan and Andrew of the Wee Book Company, was taken yesterday morning (May 13).
The pair said they enjoyed seeing the “Maw an' her weans takin' a wee daunder doon George Street.”
There have been a growing number of wildlife sightings in Edinburgh since the start of the lockdown, with deer among the most commonly spotted animals.
Three were spotted on the hill off Mayfield Road close to the Edinburgh University's King's Buildings campus at the beginning of the month.
It is understood the animals had made their way from Blackford Hill.
Otters have also been seen swimming in Water of Leith since the coronavirus lockdown.
