UK sees Covid-19 vaccine approval increase 20 per cent since mid-November

The UK has topped the YouGov Covid-19 tracker for European countries that are noticeably more willing to get vaccinated against coronavirus.

A total of 81 per cent of Brits responded that they would be willing to get vaccinated when it was offered, or have already been vaccinated.

It is an increase of 20 per cent of respondents, as last time the poll in was taken in mid-November just 61 per cent of Brits said that they were willing.

Similar trends are being seen across the whole of Europe, with Sweden having the largest increase (21%) of those willing to take the vaccine.

There have been fears of damage of anti-vax campaigners but health officials have quashed conspiracy theories

Yesterday, the Deputy First Minister John Swinney confirmed that the number of people who have received their first vaccination stood at 334,871 adding that the government is ‘very confident’ about reaching over-80s vaccine target by next month.
