The First Minister has announced five new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths from COVID-19 to 1,576.

While adding that the relatively low increase could be due to lower reporting of deaths over the weekend, Nicola Sturgeon also confirmed that another 169 people have tested positive for the virus, bringing the total number of positive tests in Scotland to 12,226.

She added that 54 more people are in hospital with positive or suspected cases of the disease, bringing the total to 1,720.

The number of patients in intensive care with COVID-19 has stayed the same since Sunday at 99.

In total, 2,780 people have left hospital after testing positive with coronavirus.
