Coronavirus in Scotland: death toll reaches 1,249
The coronavirus death toll in Scotland has reached 1,249, according to new figures released by the Scottish Government this afternoon.
That number is an increase of 18 on yesterday (Saturday, 25 April).

Hide AdThe report also showed that 273 people had tested positive for the virus since yesterday, bringing the overall total of confirmed cases to 10,324.
38,833 people in Scotland have tested negative.

Speaking at the Scottish Government’s coronavirus briefing, Scotland Health Secretary Jeane Freeman urged some caution on the latest daily death figures, stressing deaths registered at the weekend tend to be relatively low.
