Coronavirus in Scotland: Further 3 deaths as 1,115 new Covid cases reported in latest daily figures

A further three people have died in Scotland after testing positive for coronavirus according to the latest daily figures, with 1,115 new cases reported.

Whilst the 3 deaths recorded is significantly lower than yesterday’s total of 39, it is important to note Register Offices are generally closed at the weekend.

Of these new cases reported on Sunday, 416 are in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde health board area, with 245 in Lanarkshire, 122 in Lothian and 101 in Ayrshire and Arran. The remaining cases are spread across eight other health authorities.

A total of 1,245 people were in hospital in Scotland on Sunday with recently confirmed Covid-19 and 111 patients were in intensive care.

At its peak, on April 20 there were more than 1,500 patients with Covid being treated across the country.
