Of the new cases reported today, 337 were in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde health board, 207 were in Lanarkshire and 147 were reported in the Lothians.

The rest were reported across 11 other health board areas.

1,958 people are currently in hospital with the virus which is a decrease of 25 from the figure reported yesterday.

144 people are currently in intensive care, which is an increase of two from the figure reported yesterday.

As of 8.30am today, 515,855 people had received their first dose of the vaccine in Scotland.

The 70 additional deaths recorded in the last 24 hours brings the death toll in Scotland, under this daily measurement, to 6,040.

The additional 1,155 positive cases in the last 24 hours has brought the total number of people who have tested positive for the virus since the start of the pandemic to 177,688.
