Call to cut VAT on food for guide dogs

CAMPAIGNERS have called for a change in the law to help cut the food bill for guide dogs.

The charity Guide Dogs Scotland says it is unfair that VAT rules exempt only “working dogs”, such as sheep dogs and greyhounds.

SNP MSP Linda Fabiani, who met campaigners in Edinburgh yesterday, said it was unfair on people who relied on their dogs to carry out daily tasks.
