Athletics legend Cram to visit staff and patients at Capital hospice

ATHLETICS legend Steve Cram is to visit staff and patients at St Columba’s Hospice today.

The runner is in the Capital to give a motivational talk for Clydesdale Bank, which is also arranging the St Columba’s visit through its links with the charity Help the Hospices.

Director of fundraising at St Columba’s Hospice, Lesley Christie, said: “We are delighted Steve Cram will be able to make a visit to the hospice, giving our patients the opportunity to meet and chat to one of athletics’ best known personalities. We are extremely grateful to Clydesdale Bank for arranging the visit, it’s yet another example of their ongoing commitment to the hospice.”

Cram set several world records in the 1980s and his 800m Commonwealth Games record, set at the Edinburgh games in 1986, still stands.

Clydesdale Bank’s Simon Kerr, said: “Steve Cram’s visit to St Columba’s Hospice will serve to highlight the fantastic work which the staff undertake there every single day.”
