Frosted Delight

Photographer Katielee Arrowsmith captured these stunning aerial shots of snow covered Drummond Castle Gardens, Perthshire as Storm Christoph hits the UK. The gardens are one of Europe' s and Scotland's most important and impressive formal gardens which date back to the 17th Century.

The formal gardens, dating from 1630, are designed in geometric patterns and there are 11 miles of box hedges. They were restored in the 19th Century, but the castle dates back to 1490. They have appeared in Outlander, where scenes set in the Palace of Versailles were shot. A spokesperson said: "It is really stunning, someone said it looked like wrought ironwork. You can see the structure of the garden and the sundial in the middle of the St Andrew's Cross. It doubled for Versailles in Outlander and was in the film Rob Roy. It is stunning, particularly in the snow. We have had no visitors for the past year but we plan to reopen at Easter."
