Parts of Callander in Stirlingshire have been flooded after the River Teith burst its banks due to heavy rain.

Scottish Environment Protection Agency had 35 flood warnings and 10 flood alerts in place. A flood warning was issued on Saturday for Callander as pictures emerged online of streets submerged under water.

The flood warning stated “River levels at Callander have peaked but will remain high over the next few days. Flooding may affect properties backing onto the Meadows car park area.

"Flooding in and around the playing fields and small out building at Callander Primary School is also possible. There is also a risk to properties in Gart. SEPA is currently monitoring the situation and will issue updates as the situation changes.”
