If you want to speak to staff and have your questions answered before applying for a course, make a date in your diary for Wednesday, 3 February.

Following the success of the June 2020 virtual open day, which saw nearly 200 participants joining in to find out about what college can do for them, West Lothian College is making the event live this time around.

Feedback from the previous open day said participants loved the chance to find out about the college and courses but missed the live element of the event and the ability to ask questions face to face.

In light of this feedback the college will be hosting the February open day live through Microsoft Teams.

This means you'll be able to meet lecturers from your area of interest, ask any questions you have and find out more information about your subject of choice right there and then. You will also get a virtual campus tour on the day and hear from the admissions, student funds and Student Association teams.

All you have to do is choose the subject area you are interested in studying and register for the time that suits you – you can even register for multiple subject areas if you are unsure.

The sessions will be held one-to-one with the subject lecturer so you will get an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. If you wish, your parent, guardian or loved one can also join the session to find out more.

“Our last event was such a great success but the one thing that was missing was the live element, the ability to ask questions directly to a lecturer on the course you’re interested in,” said Simon Earp, vice principal for performance and improvement at West Lothian College.

“With this new open day you’ll be able to do just that, and we hope all prospective students will get involved and take full advantage of the event. Demand for our courses is very high since they launched in December, so I’d recommend if you’re interested in taking a course to register for the open day and apply on-line as soon as possible.”

The sessions are first come, first served so get one booked while you can and head along to see where your future might be. The staff can't wait to meet all new and potential applicants on the day!
