Visit highlights business plans at science park

THE chairman of Scottish Enterprise has made a special visit to Midlothian.

Crawford Gillies recently visited Pentlands Science Park and the Moredun Research Institute at Edinburgh Science Triangle's Midlothian Campus.

The visits were arranged by Midlothian Council, which is urging key decision-makers to see the business developments that are currently under way or planned in the area in the life sciences and animal biosciences sectors.

During his visit, Mr Gillies discussed a number of economic development issues.

Councillor Russell Imrie, the council's cabinet member for strategic services, said: "Midlothian is joint home to one of the world's top 20 'super science-campus' sites."
