Talks over catchments

THREE public meetings have been held to discuss a shake-up of school catchment areas in Midlothian.

Primary schools affected by the boundary changes – designed to cut pupils' journey times and ensure schools retain sufficient student numbers – are Gorebridge and Stobhill; King's Park and Woodburn and Bonnyrigg, Hopefield, Hawthornden and Lasswade.

Councillor Peter Boyes, cabinet member for education and communities, said the "useful" meetings gave people the chance to ask questions.
