Soap star Ryan Smith in visit to school

Ryan Smith, who plays Charlie in the popular soap, visited Deans Community High School in Livingston on Monday to talk to pupils.

Mr Smith attended assembly in the morning and a drama class at the end of the school day.

Mr Smith said: "When I was at school it wasn't cool to be an actor. If I can encourage people to get into that, it's something I would quite like to do."
