Sheds allow pupils to get on their bikes

PUPILS at Firrhill High are set to get on their bikes with the opening of new sheds.

The school has a roll of 1,068 pupils, but previously, only had 10 cycle racks.

Teachers and pupils raised their concerns with the council's school travel co-ordinators and have now been given new bike storage facilities.

Education leader Councillor Marilyne MacLaren said: "Pupils will be able to benefit from a healthy and fit lifestyle."

The sheds will be opened today.
