Sex shame Elgin Academy PE teacher struck off
Jonathan Wylie was called before the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) after being convicted last year of numerous offences.
Whilst “in a position of trust” at Elgin Academy in Moray a court found that Wylie engaged in sexual activity with a 15 year-old girl - asking her for indecent pictures and saying he wanted to kiss her.

Wylie was jailed last year for two years and placed on the sex offender’s register for a decade for the offences.
And now he has been barred from working in the classroom by the GTCS.
The secondary school teacher did not appear to defend himself, but instead signed a “removal with consent order” last Tuesday.
That means he has agreed to a ban from the classroom without submitting himself to a formal hearing from the teaching watchdog.
Documents made public by the GTCS read: “The respondent indicated to GTCS that he wished to be removed from the register in view of the allegations made against him relating to his fitness to teach.”
By signing the “reprimand with consent order” he waived his right to a full hearing.
The offences occurred between September and November 2013.
