ROSSHALL Academy, a state secondary school, was formed in 1999 following the merger of Penilee and Crookston Castle secondary schools.

An Education Scotland report from 2010 said it had 1,210 pupils and 95 teachers.

Figures show 20.8 per cent of pupils received free school meals during 2010-2011. This compared with the rate for Glasgow at 29.3 per cent and 15.2 per cent throughout Scotland.

In terms of exam success, the percentage of exam passes obtained by fourth-year pupils for 2010-2011 stood at 76 per cent. The rate for Glasgow was 72 per cent, while the figure for Scotland was 78 per cent.

After leaving school 24 per cent of the school’s pupils went on to higher education, eight per cent went into training, 16 per cent had jobs, 10 per cent were looking for work.
