Roads charity seeking help for challenge

ROAD safety charity Brake is seeking volunteers to collectively travel one million metres in a bid to highlight the one million deaths worldwide on roads every year.

The charity aims to raise more than 20,000 in total through people taking up the challenge.

Amanda Peak, whose sons Arron and Ben were killed in a car crash in July 2008, took part in the Edinburgh Marathon last year.

She said: "I knew I wanted to raise money for Brake and do something in memory of the boys and I chose to run the marathon because my oldest son, Arron, had wanted to take part in the Manchester Run so it felt right.

"There is a serious lack of funding for road safety."
