Opera show is kids’ stuff

SCOTTISH Opera will be visiting primary schools in Edinburgh and Midlothian over the next few months to teach children how to stage their own performances.

As part of The Big Bang Show, P5-7 pupils will learn and perform their own in-school opera exploring issues around energy.

Scottish Opera’s director of education, Jane Davidson, said: “The Big Bang Show not only introduces the children to opera and helps them develop their creativity; it’s designed to work in line with the Curriculum for Excellence to enhance what they’re already being taught.

“You can see the children really enjoy learning and performing the opera and we’re sure it’ll get a great reaction.”
