'Fishy census' takes place at sea centre

THE annual stock-taking will get under way at Deep Sea World this weekend with the aquarium's very own version of a "fishy census".

Staff are inviting visitors to help spot and record the number of certain species, including sharks, rays, clown fish, piranhas and poison dart frogs.

Experts at the North Queensferry aquarium will then do an official check and the children who most accurately report the population of each animal will win a series of special prizes.

Zoological manager, Chris Smith, said: "We thought it would be a good idea to involve the visitors in the whole process as well and turn it into a fun activity that everyone can take part in."

The event takes place on Saturday and Sunday.
