Debates on Porty Private Bill

TWO public meetings are set to debate the council’s proposals to take a Private Bill to the Scottish Parliament to allow it to build a new Portobello High School on Portobello Park.

The city council launched a consultation on a Private Bill last month, which will run until January 31. The first of two public meetings to debate the issue will take place in Portobello Town Hall on Wednesday, from 7pm to 9pm.

Representatives from the local groups who support and oppose the proposals, PFANS and PPAG, have been invited to join council officers at the top table to express their views. There will also be a question and answer session for local residents to ask questions and raise issues.

The second meeting will be held in Meadowbank Sports Centre (Hall 2) on January 17, from 7pm to 9pm.
