The 20-week project, beginning on Monday, will widen Culloden Road from two to four lanes near to Inshes overbridge.

The campus access road will be created immediately opposite an existing slip road to the A9.

The works are also aimed at improving capacity on one of the key routes in to Inverness city centre.

Signs have been installed warning drivers of the likely delays on this busy route into the city.

The campus will be a base for UHI and feature a £75million building for Inverness College. Inverness Campus will also be attracting research businesses and organisations.
