City research aids children

CHILDREN across the UK and beyond have benefited from pioneering research taking place in dedicated facilities at the city's Sick Kids.

More than 300 children have volunteered to take part in research supported by the Children's Clinical Research Facility (CCRF), which celebrates its first birthday this month.

The CCRF - has participated in research to improve treatment for children with conditions such as leukaemia, asthma, cystic fibrosis and allergy.
